The best looks of Coachella 2019

by: Emma Wilder 24 Apr 2019

Festival season is here! Every season, a whole host of our favourite actors, musicians, models and influencers take to the California desert for the most fashionable festival there is: Coachella. Coachella might be a music festival by name, but it’s a fashion festival in spirit; it’s not about who you are, it’s about what you wear. We’ve broken some of our favourite looks down into the biggest trends for the SS20 season…

Block neons

Block neons

They’ve been creeping into wardrobes for a while now, so it’s no surprise that neons made a grand entrance into the mainstream at this year’s Coachella. Everyone from bloggers to models to performers were sporting bright and bold highlighter shades this year to mark the start of summer. We love these looks sported by model Winnie Harlow and singers Teyana Taylor and SZA.

Desert denim

From white denim to acid washes, baggy jeans to long shorts, denim once again proved its versatility at Coachella 2019. Olivia Culpo, Emily Ratajkowski, Amandla Stenberg, Hayley Bieber, Kylie Jenner and many, many more have all given us some serious summer style inspiration where denim is concerned.

Festival fringe

Would it really be Coachella if fringe didn’t make the list? As always, fringe featured heavily in the fashion choices of our style favourites, including Queen of Coachella, Vanessa Hudgens. This year, fringed crochet looks were in no short supply, with actress Shay Mitchell and style blogger Louise Cooney repping the classic look. Vanessa Hudgens’ patchwork/ fringe dress and Kacey Musgrave’s terracotta fringe frock added an exciting twist on a festival classic.

Summer florals

Whether they’re tropical prints, botanical motifs, applique blossoms or ditsy tea dresses, florals were a favourite with Coachella celebrities this year. Given an edgy twist, floral prints were paired with worker boots for a punkier vibe and leaves and sharper shapes were favoured above the classically delicate floral. Donned by Yara Shahidi, Hailee Steinfeld, Sara Sampaio and Stella Maxwell to name a few, botanicals brightened up the desert this year.

Gigi Hadid is always one step ahead of the game when it comes to trends, so when she showcased her tie dye Coachella wardrobe, we all sat up and took note. Another trend that’s been making it’s way into the mainstream for a while, tie dye looks like it’s here to stay.

With so many exciting looks, we’re already excited to find out what Coachella 2020 has in store!
