We’ve asked our Pure London exhibitors a few simple questions to get to know them better ahead of the AW20/21 show. Meet Iryna Kokhana from Chereshnivska …
Who or what inspires your designs?
The main source of inspiration for the collection is the culture of Japan. Creating this collection, designed mainly in the traditional colors of Japanese painting (red, white, black, purple), we also relied on the culture of Japan. Traditional masks and sea waves are given with a contemporary author's presentation.
What is the one thing your label does to be more sustainable?
All waste tissue that remains after sewing regular collections is used to create capsule collections using the patchwork technique. Sometimes these are very unique things, created in one copy. All our clothes are produced in limited quantities.
Why do you love London?
We love London for its street style, for the craziest interpretations of trendy outfits. The combination of bright colors with colorful prints, classic things combine with informal clothes. Layered outfits and an abundance of accessories. Many cool designers have appeared in London. It is incredible to be in such an atmosphere.
Where in the world is your favourite fashion destination?
Favorite destinations are Tokyo and London. Because they are informal in comparison with Milan and Paris. More freedom of action and combination in terms of modeling clothes.
What does the “Nomad” theme mean to you?
For us, this is mainly about equal opportunities. Without leaving your home, you can visit the latest shows, see the streets of other cities. It is also an opportunity to be heard, to convey ideas and visions to a large number of people.
